NEMI MEXICAN RESTAURANT + BAR in Philly

    February 11, 2019 /

Tinsel & Tine’s look at  NEMI MEXICAN:  Bar and Restaurant By Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Got a chance to check out NEMI a new Mexican (Latin American Fusion) restaurant and bar in Port Richmond, Philadelphia (right off Girard Exit from 95). This upscale neighborhood spot opened the weekend between Christmas and New Years. In Spanish, “Nemi” is an expression that stands for life, adventure, and the courage to live all-out and seize the day. That’s a lot for a restaurant to live up to, but I have to say, my first visit did fill me with a desire to return and explore more super chulo culinary delights. Here’s a brief…

    Want Men Want – Spotlight

    February 7, 2019 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor #MiniMovieReview WHAT MEN WANT (dir Adam Shankman) – Taraji and company deliver a solid rom-com with a lot of energy and heart.  Nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable. The wedding scene is hilarious and who knew Erykah Badu was a comedian? But mostly, I fell in love with her love interest the sweetly sexy Aldis Hodge.   T&T the Large Association of Movie Blogs (aka the LAMb) rating: 3.5 outta 5   Congrats Taraji P. Henson  on your Hollywood star! Much-deserved.

    #WkndBoxOffice Highlights January 31 – Feb 2, 2020

    February 2, 2019 /

Super Bowl Weekend had BAD BOYS FOR LIFE at the #1 spot 3rd week in a row! To date total $148.1 M Click HERE for T&T Bad Boys #MiniMovieReview The family film DOLITTLE took in another estimated $7.7M, in its 3rd week. GRETEL & HANSEL debuted to an estimated $6.1M. Pretty low. Typically a horror movie does well in early January when all the movies are pretty schlocky. THE GENTLEMEN , a movie I forgot even came out, earned an estimated $6M giving STX $20.4M THE RHYTHM SECTION starring Blake Lively is one I would have gone to see, but I was in Sundance when the Philly press screening took…

    UNTOGETHER by filmmaker Emma Forrest

    February 2, 2019 /

Tinsel & Tine’s look at FreeStyle Media Presents: UNTOGETHER By Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I was offered a screener to check out writer/director Emma Forrest’s feature debut UNTOGETHER starring real-life sisters – Jemima Kirke , (HBO’s GIRLS & painter), Lola Kirke (Noah Baumbach’s MISTRESS AMERICA & singer), Jamie Dornan (FIFTY SHADES trilogy) Ben Mendelsohn (Netflix series BLOODLINES and upcoming CAPTAIN MARVEL) and the one and only Billy Crystal. It’s a moment in time type movie that centers around the romances of two sisters, Andrea (Jemima) & Tara (Lola). Andrea made a name for herself as a very young, successful author of a best selling novel, but that was a couple…

    Alita Battle Angel

    January 31, 2019 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Directed by Robert Rodriguez written and produced by James Cameron, based on 90’s Japanese cyberpunk manga series created by Yukito Kishiro. I often think about all these post-apocalyptic worlds created for our entertainment, and cringe at the possible self-fulfilling prophecy of it all. History shows us the collective conscious can create, shift and build our societies and environment, so what does it mean that we’ve been steeped in movies like: 12 Monkeys, The Road, Mad Max, Children of Men, War of the Worlds, World War Z, The Day After Tomorrow, District 9, Zombieland, Blade Runner, Ready Player One, Planet of the Apes and so many…
