    Gloria Bell

    March 23, 2019 /

By writer/director Sebastián Lelio. Did you know this movie was a remake by the same writer/director, how many times has that happened? “Gloria Bell” is a very intense and incisive portrait of a woman. We see her in every frame of the film. Every single scene is about how she exists in the world, moment by moment. Because the spectator never stops looking at her, there is the opportunity to deeply connect with her feelings …Like everyone, Gloria gets hit by the world, but she continues to stand up. She resurrects herself and keeps on looking to experience the beauty of life. That is my inspiration and reason for sharing…

    Fighting with My Family

    February 22, 2019 /

A feel good, family dramedy, with excellent beats. You don’t have to be a wrestling fan to fall in love with Paige and her crazy, exuberant, dedicated family. I didn’t score it higher only because the traditional sports underdog tropes are not very inventive, yet still effective. I also LOVE that the real wrestler took her stage name #Paige from Rose McGowan’s character from my all time favorite show #Charmed ! “Fighting With My Family is Executive Produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson based on the 2012 documentary “The Wrestlers: Fighting with My Family”, depicting the rise to fame of female WWE star Paige. Much to my surprise we were…

    Isn’t It Romantic

    February 17, 2019 /

Natalie (Rebel Wilson) is told by her mother at a young, impressionable age to stop watching rom/coms cause life’s not a fantasy and especially not for girl’s that look like her. From that point on, Natalie’s approach to life and how people see her became pragmatic and limited. Until she’s knocked unconscious during an attempted mugging, where she wakes up and and finds herself trapped in the stereotypical romantic comedies that she came to despise. As someone who reveres a good rom/com (although, I think someone should have taken them and soap operas away from me as a kid for my mental health) I was looking forward to seeing a…
