PFF21: SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK w/ David O. Russell Red Carpet Photos

    October 27, 2012 /

21st Philadelphia Film Festival Opening Red Carpet with David O. Russell, director of “Silver Linings Playbook” and Matthew Quick, author of the same entitled book. All day Thursday, October 18, 2012, I was feeling out-of-sorts and low on energy, but all that seemed to disappear the moment I stepped up to the press bullpen to take red carpet photos at the Opening of the 21st Philadelphia Film Festival, featuring the opening film – Silver Linings Playbook. Director David O. Russell (The Fighter) was the prime red carpet target, along with the author of the book “Silver Linings Playbook” Matthew Quick. The others pics are of local actors (Brea Bee, Vaughn…

Collaborate Philly Features: Tinsel & Tine (Why I started blogging)

    October 26, 2012 /

I did a profile piece on the new Philadelphia based Social Media Site Collaborate Philly (click for post) in August, and now they’ve returned the favor and interviewed me about Tinsel & Tine … For the fourth installment of our spotlight on local websites series, we decided to feature local film and food website Tinsel & Tine founded by Le Anne Lindsay. Philly has a great film community. And as Katie Briggs talked about in our last installment, Philly is also a foodie town, too. It only makes sense to come across a site, which happily marries the two. And when I say “happily” I mean happily. Le Anne loves what…

    Hotel Monaco Looks Exciting!

    October 21, 2012 /

While making my way to Ritz East during the 21st Philadelphia Film Festival. (my film fest posts aren’t up yet, but be sure to follow my @phillyfilmfest tweets) I was suddenly struck by the tantalizing sight of a new boutique hotel and dining establishments. I can’t even recall what used to be on the corner of 5th & Chestnut? But now it’s the Hotel Monaco featuring The Red Owl Tavern and Stratus Rooftop, and I can’t wait to be up in both! The line for the rooftop was insane last night! Here’s a rundown tweeted earlier this month from uwishunu:  The opening of The Hotel Monaco Philadelphia on Independence Mall is…

    ARGO (Ben Affleck)

    October 12, 2012 /

by James Bradford, Guest Critic (and boyfried 🙂 Ben Affleck has proven to me that he is a true talent, and that talent, lies behind the camera. Gone Baby Gone ranks among one of the top child abduction movies. Not only did it keep you guessing; but the gritty, questionable protagonist, played with amazing truth by Amy Ryan, gave the movie remarkable originality. The Town brought heart to the heist movie franchise. With super great chase scenes and that authentic Boston flavor. And now Argo successfully manages to keep us glued to a plot in which we already know the outcome. The Hollywood element to this film is not only…
