Hotel Monaco Looks Exciting!

While making my way to Ritz East during the 21st Philadelphia Film Festival. (my film fest posts aren’t up yet, but be sure to follow my @phillyfilmfest tweets) I was suddenly struck by the tantalizing sight of a new boutique hotel and dining establishments. I can’t even recall what used to be on the corner of 5th & Chestnut?

But now it’s the Hotel Monaco featuring The Red Owl Tavern and Stratus Rooftop, and I can’t wait to be up in both! The line for the rooftop was insane last night!

Here’s a rundown tweeted earlier this month from uwishunu:

The opening of The Hotel Monaco Philadelphia on Independence Mall is set for tomorrow, Thursday, October 4 (the ribbon-cutting is slated for October 11).
The Monaco is the second Kimpton property in Philadelphia (the Hotel Palomar near Rittenhouse Square opened in October 2009).

And one thing Kimpton takes very seriously, and executes extremely well, is their hotels’ restaurants.

The Hotel Monaco Philadelphia will be no exception, with Red Owl Tavern on the ground floor, and Stratus Rooftop Lounge on the rooftop. Both spots will open their doors to the public tomorrow, Thursday, October 4.
We shared some insider intel with you a few weeks ago, including the fact that Square 1682 Executive Chef Guillermo Tellez will be helming the kitchens of both Red Owl and Stratus.

But now, we have the official opening menus for both Red Owl Tavern and Stratus Lounge. Take a peek, below. And get ready to try them for yourself!
Check out our previous post for insider tips including the best seat in the house at both restaurants, the lowdown on the awesome views and a few fun facts.
