Blog Contributor Monique: LOCKE (Tom Hardy
by Monique Steans I was really glad to get the assignment to see LOCKE, as it had been on my Indie film radar for sometime. TOM HARDY’S character Ivan Locke, centers around an emotionally tortured man who on the outside seems calmbut on the inside is falling apart at the seams. The film was shot entirely in a car, in London with a singular character, Locke, interacting on the phone with those in his life, it’s an interesting journey. Filadelphia Latin American Film Festival Round Up
I try to stay plugged into the local Philly Film Scene, but it’s easy to get caught up in the new box office releases and miss some good stuff going on around me. HOME BREWING with Melissa B
Although Chili and Beer go great together, this is not the same Melissa featured in my Chili Cook Off Contest post. I met this Melissa at a Media Beer Ladies event at Yards Brewing Company. The Media Beer Ladies (facebook page) run by Brooke Penders is a club which combines two beloved traditions: girls night out and drinking great beer! With our Yards tour and tasting complete, we each selected a full glass of our favorite beer (mine the dark, chocolaty Love Stout) and sat down to get to know each other. Melissa revealed that she recently began brewing her own beer at home. Something she figured as a Microbiologist,…

MERYL STREEP COSTUMES: DEVIL WEARS PRADA vs THE IRON LADY
Meryl Streep Portrays Both Style and Substance By Olan Ahern, Guest Blogger I had a writer contact me about doing a guest post for Tinsel & Tine, which is always cool! She pitched a post on Award show fashions best and worst over the years. As much as I enjoy talking about red carpet choices in my Oscar and Golden Globe recaps, I feel this topic is covered so much better on television with video clips rather than a blog with photos. I did mention that if she wanted to zero in on one actress and examine the importance of wardrobe from one role to the next, that would be…
