Wanted: A Man! To Be A Blog Contributor That Is

I receive many submissions from freelance writers who wish to Guest Blog as a way of also promoting a link to another business.  It’s mutually beneficial in that it promotes blog traffic, still, I’m very picky when it comes to doing this. I don’t want Tinsel & Tine to become too commercial, especially since I don’t get paid to post these “Guest Posts”. I retain carte blanche when it comes to editing these pieces, and if I’m not interested in reading the article, than I don’t subject my readers to it.

But Candace Smith’s submissions are a different story (See her latest review of Sinister and links to her other reviews) I met her last spring at the BlackStar Film Festival and we just hit it off!  She’s a freelance writer who also loves movies and I asked her if she wanted to guest post now and again.  Last week, I even asked her if she’d be able to attend a roundtable interview with director Fede Alvarez in my place (interview scheduled to post April 5th).

I’ve decided to no longer lump her in with the “Guest Bloggers” She’s now a contributor of “Candi’s Corner”  She asked if she could add in reviews of DVD’s she sees on Redbox, in addition to films in the theater and other film stuff.

LOOKING FOR A SECOND BLOG CONTRIBUTOR:  I need a man’s perspective too.  I turned down several press screenings in recent weeks to films which I really had no interest in writing about: Dead Man Down, A Good Day to Die Hard and Olympus Has Fallen.  It’s not that I don’t like to see these male dominated action films; it’s just other than a quick facebook review, I’m not inspired to create a whole post after screening these films. Plus, I’d really like to increase my male demographic.

HERE’S THE GUIDELINES
1. Need someone who doesn’t just love movies, but also loves to write, but doesn’t like to write too much.  My posts normally take under 2 minutes to read.
2. Need to be responsible with deadlines.  You must submit the post to me at least 24 hours before the opening day of the film.
3. I will be sending you to press screenings as a representative of Tinsel & Tine, your seat will be reserved. Please don’t show up late or be reprimanded about cellphone usage in the theater or sit in someone else’s seat.  (You can however, sneak food from other places into the theater, as I do it all the time).
4. NO COMPENSATION.  Tinsel & Tine (at this point) is strictly volunteer.  I do get a butt load of traffic though!  See Analytic’s Page.  I also do a helluva lot of promotion on social media and other sites. You will receive writing credit for all your submissions. You can feel free to include a picture, a bio, a logo and links to any other articles or projects you are working on (within reason and good taste).
5. The contributor relationship will continue for as long as it is mutually beneficial to both parties involved. Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. ALL POSTS SUBMITTED TO TINSEL & TINE ARE THE PROPERTY OF TINSEL & TINE AND CANNOT BE POSTED ON ANOTHER SITE. (Of course you can use them as writing samples for future employment).
If this sounds interesting to you, send me at least two movie/film writing samples to:
