    Guest Blogger: Gorging on Gotti

    October 1, 2012 /

I was set up on a blind date over the Labor Day weekend and believe it or not, it actually worked out!  (See Tinsel & Tine facebook page for more details). LOOPER

    September 29, 2012 /

Writer/Director Rian Johnson created a very balanced film. There's enough action & violence for testosterone driven movie-goers; enough plausible science for geeks; unique enough for indie movie-goers to see its merit.

    PITCH PERFECT

    September 27, 2012 /

Beca (Kendrick) is into music. She carries around a laptop with a state-of-the-art sound mixing board and serious big-ass headphones. Her father is faculty at Barden University, the two aren't close, as Beca hasn't forgiven him for divorcing her mother and remarrying; yet sensibly, she does agree to attend the school and get a free education. But after a lackluster first couple of weeks, Beca is ready to follow her dream of going to LA...

    ROBOT & FRANK

    August 22, 2012 /

I think most of us who watched The Jetsons as a kid, figured by the year 2012 we'd all have a Rosie the Robot to help us with chores and child rearing, and most importantly, she'd be like a part of the family.  Sadly, although we rely heavily on technology, this family robot way of life doesn't exactly seem to be right around the corner.

Garnish: The Odd Life of Timothy Green

    August 14, 2012 /

If you’ve seen the trailers for The Odd Life of Timothy Green, you know the deal – cute, simple Midwest couple (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton) are told to give up on having a child, as one or both of them is incapable of procreating progeny. Despondent, they decide it’s best to lay the matter to rest; but first, one last night where they wallow in the fantasy, writing down on scraps of paper what their nearly perfect off-spring would be like if they had been lucky enough to conceive. Papers go in box, box gets buried in garden. Thunder, lightening, wind, rain and leaves produce magical child from buried…
