Geeks in the Round: FANTASTIC FOUR (Black Tribbles Spoiled Tribbles)

    August 6, 2015 /

Spoiled Tribbles Post-Screening Group Review:  FANTASTIC FOUR  (Podcast) The reboot of FANTASTIC FOUR has hit. It’s been a very Marvel summer! See Tinsel & Tine’s Avengers:The Age of Ultron, Marvel Experience and Ant Man Posts. I know I’m not alone in thinking – a reboot, already?  But then I tried to think back on my opinion of the 2005 version of Fantastic Four (pre-T&T) directed by Tim Story – and all I can remember is Julian McMahon played the Villain Victor Von Doom. I can’t tell you if he was a convincing Dr. Doom, just that because of  Dr. Christian Troy (Nip/Tuck) and Cole Turner (Charmed) I pretty much…

The Peanuts Movie: An Interview with Harriet Glickman & Mar Mar By Illustrator and Tinsel & Tine Contributor – Diane Roka Harriet Glickman Illustration by Diane Roka These days, it’s hard to watch the news without feeling depressed about the state of things. In 1968, Harriet Glickman felt the same way. Martin Luther King had just been assassinated, racial tensions were running high, and Harriet was raised in a family that believed that when something very wrong takes place, you do something about it. Harriet had been a schoolteacher, and was now home raising her three children. Her whole family were big Peanuts fans — there were posters on the…

In the Spotlight: East Coast Wings & Grill – Win a Gift Certificate!

    July 28, 2015 /

    Straight Outta Compton in Philly

    July 22, 2015 /

We sent our roving reporter Jessica Lucky out this week to cover the preview screening of the movie STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON and post Q&A at Riverview Theater.  Below is her write up & pics: Why so much security for a simple Q&A with the director of a soon-to-be cult classic? Might have something to do with a huge cameo from hip-hop legend and cinema star Ice Cube; also co-producer and writer to the ambitious biopic of golden era lyrical assassins N.W.A. entitled “Straight Outta Compton”.   The Q&A session accompanied the special screening where we were introduced to filmmaking hustler and director F. Gary Gray, Jason Mitchell (EazyE), O’Shea Jackson…
