    OVER THE MOON

    December 17, 2020 /

    The story centers around a young girl in China, Fei Fei (Cathy Ang ) whose mother loved to tell her stories of a Mythical Moon Goddess named Chang'e (Phillipa Soo) who pines for her one true love Houyi. I re-watched the very beginning when the myth is explained because I thought maybe I’d missed something as I don't understand why she took two immortality pills,one meant for Houyi;

    TINA: The Tina Turner Musical

    November 17, 2019 /

    By Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I got to see TINA: The Tina Turner Musical with Thomasena of @musicfilmdiva and her friend Carol. It’s everything you want a Broadway show to be, book & music meet perfectly!!! We saw it with Nkeki Obi-Melekwe @nkekio SO dynamic! Can’t imagine the other Tina who plays her most shows, being better 😍 The Ike Turner was so convincing Daniel J Watts @dwattswords , I didn’t know whether to clap or boo for him at curtain call 😄 Be on the look out for a star on the horizon in a little package, Skye Dakota Turner @skyedakotaturner plays Annamae (Tina) as a child and her…

    Annie Director Will Gluck Says Race Didn’t Play a Part in Casting

    December 18, 2014 /

    by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor This Annie remake has been in the works for a while. We all knew Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith had gotten the rights to update the Charles Strouse musical for a new movie. At one point their daughter Willow was supposed to play the title role.  Then we learned Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter was also producing, so I don’t think there was any doubt that this version of Annie was being looked at as “The Black Annie”, right? Like “The Wiz” or “The Preachers Wife”. So why did I read this article on i am ROGUE where director Will Gluck says: Was the goal always…

    INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS

    December 22, 2013 /

    Don’t Ask Him to Sing for His Supper By Le Anne Lindsay, Editor This is the winter of Llewyn Davis’ (Oscar Isaac) discontent. He’s got no money, no coat, no place to live and no one really likes him much. He’s got some charm and sex appeal, he can sing and play guitar, but he’s one of these people who speaks first and thinks later and has little regard for the consequences of his actions, until after his words and/or actions make trouble for him. Still, he’s not nearly as bad as Jean (Carey Mulligan) the self-righteous, singing girlfriend of a friend (Justin Timberlake) tells him he is.   With Inside…
