    LAST CALL (starring Jeremy Piven)

    March 23, 2021 /

25 MINUTE DRIVE IS A WORLD AWAY co-written/directed by Paolo Pilladi & co-writer Greg Lingo, "Last Call" is a movie about Philly! Set not far from where David O. Russell (Bradley Cooper/Jennifer Lawrence) beloved Silver Linings Playbook was filmed in Upper Darby.   It stars Jeremy Piven (Entourage) as Seamus "Mick" McDougal a kid from the neighborhood, whose mother was a saintly housewife; his father (Jack McGee) runs The Bucket, a favored watering hole; and his brother (Zach McGowan) is a good looking, good for nothin.  He grew up with a group of guys (Jamie Kennedy, Jason James Richter, Garry Pastore and Peter Patrikios - Yay, Peter I kinda know him )...

Movie Blog Post: REBEL IN THE RYE | GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN

    October 11, 2017 /

By Le Anne Lindsay, Editor A biopic about the celebrated but reclusive author, J.D. Salinger, famous for his novel, “The Catcher in the Rye”. (died 2010 age 91) the movie is written and directed by Danny Strong who is the co-creator of the TV Show Empire (w/ Lee Daniels) and for other Gilmore Girl fans like myself, he plays Paris’s boyfriend Doyle. Rebel in the Rye stars Nicholas Hoult, who was a child actor in one of my all time favorite movies About a Boy with Hugh Grant. He’s also Beast in a number of the X-men movies, a cute zombie in Warm Bodies (see below) and I’m really looking…

    CHUCK (The “Real Rocky”)

    May 20, 2017 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Chuck Wepner in Philadelphia for Q&A after Screening of His Biopic CHUCK When Chuck Wepner was introduced to the Philadelphia audience in attendance at PFS’s Prince Theater for the preview screening of CHUCK, the first thing he said was that the only way he agreed to have his real story told was if there were no sugar coating; he wanted it all out there – warts and all. It just so happens that some guys can wear warts like badges of honor, because Chuck, played by “Ray Donovan” lead Liev Schreiber, is the kinda guy you root for, despite his many stupid choices, lost opportunities…

Gorniak Goes for Gold: CITY OF GOLD (foodie doc)

    April 1, 2016 /

The key to deciphering both the city it beautifully depicts and the man who eats it best – City of Gold By Tinsel & Tine Contributor Denine Gorniak (The Bicycle-Chef) What Jonathan Gold, Los Angeles Times food critic/writer, has done for food writing journalism and for the restaurants that he loves, the movie, City of Gold has done for Jonathan Gold and Los Angeles and its surrounding environs – it has planted taco covered kisses on them. The movie is a love-letter to both Mr. Gold and Los Angeles. The documentary turns the notion that there’s no “there, there” in LA and flips it over like the many tortillas that…
