Never Too Young To Start Making Movies
Chris (T & T Blog Contributor) makes a point of being plugged into positive happenings in Urban Philadelphia, last week he went to see an exclusive screening by a group of young teens – Students of IPS (Intensive Prevention Services) at Diversified Community Services screened their short romantic comedy Switch Up. DCS is rooted in South Philadelphia and enables children, youth and families to realize their fullest potential and achieve self-sufficiency in safe neighborhoods. Perhaps one of these fresh faces will be the future of Philly Filmmaking and Hollywood! Cast and crew (consisting of I.P.S. staff and students) of the short romantic film Switch Up. Filadelphia Latin American Film Festival Round Up
I try to stay plugged into the local Philly Film Scene, but it’s easy to get caught up in the new box office releases and miss some good stuff going on around me. I did make it to a couple of XPN Music Film Film Festival (click for post) screenings and events, but I completely dropped the ball when it came to Cinedelphia’s Film Festival. Thanks to T & T’s new blog contributor Chris “Flood the Drummer” Norris, I did attend opening night of the The Filadelfia Latin American Film Festival (held April 27-28, 2013). Susan Cherin and Chris Norris Chris’ grandmother is one of the organizers of this festival,…

A Comical look at a True Story, Pain & Gain isn’t Funny to Some
“Pain & Gain Actor Anthony Mackie defends Director Michael Bay’s decision to portray Tragedy as Comedy” By Christopher “Flood the Drummer”® Norris If you’ve never read the story of the “Sun Gym Gang” as chronicled by writer Pete Collins in his 1999 three-part series called Pain & Gain, which was published by Miami’s New Times, then don’t rely on Director Michael Bay’s New movie “Pain &Gain,” which touts “This is a true story,” to give you authentic chronological accounts of the case; nor its preceding murders, tortures, and kidnappings. You can however rely on a ton of laughs from the movies loaded cast which stars Mark Wahlberg as the…

Blog Contributor: 42 Hits a Home Run! (Jackie Robinson Story)
by Christopher “Flood the Drummer”® Norris I recently posted an ad on Tinsel & Tine for a male blog contributor. I felt there were some testosterone driven films not being covered on account of me not being eager to write about them; and also thought perhaps any male readers might enjoy another perspective from time to time. My association with Collaborate Philly came through for me, as a member, Chris “Flood the Drummer” Norris expressed his interest. Chris is a Philly journalist and musician with a web based company called Techbookonline. I went to see 42 with Chris (my two cents in comment section) but I asked Chris to write…

Wanted: A Man! To Be A Blog Contributor That Is
I receive many submissions from freelance writers who wish to Guest Blog as a way of also promoting a link to another business. It’s mutually beneficial in that it promotes blog traffic, still, I’m very picky when it comes to doing this. I don’t want Tinsel & Tine to become too commercial, especially since I don’t get paid to post these “Guest Posts”. I retain carte blanche when it comes to editing these pieces, and if I’m not interested in reading the article, than I don’t subject my readers to it. But Candace Smith’s submissions are a different story (See her latest review of Sinister and links to her other…
