Philly Restaurant – Flying Carpet Cafe & Bar
Stumbled upon an oasis in the desert yesterday, a real treasure of a spot called Flying Carpet Cafe & Bar. Located in the triangular apex of 19th & Poplar (1841 Poplar Street). The vibe inside is wonderfully chill, with a slightly Moorish decor. Owner Kevin Young, is at least partly of Middle Eastern decent and a lot of the menu reflects this flavor, offering Mediterranean Tapas, Vegan Flying Falafel, Exotic Teas and Baklava. I do believe the Paleolithic artists of these ancient cave renderings would have understood my tardiness, as I had come from a second full day of hanging wonderful works of art for the opening of The Art of the Garden Exhibit in Haverford. This Tinsel & Tine post is not about Industry Media. We’re taking a brief turn today away from film and food. You know how most actors are also singers and vice versa. Well, this blogger also does visual art. Recently, I’ve been working on a series of photographs I took at Long Wood Gardens, blending them with paintings I’ve done in the past or collaging the photos and some I liked the shot in the raw.
