Fashion Under the Shambles

an open-air runway show to celebrate the best of the South Street Headhouse District’s (Philadelphia) boutiques, with clothes and accessories that went from day to night for both men and women.

It took place (9/23) under the historic shambles (2nd & Pine Sts) which was transformed into a runway to rival fashion week in NYC, and was hosted by Cory Wade Hindorff  former America’s Next Top Model Finalist.

The evening began with food and beverages by Twisted Tail, Bridget Foy’s, Redwood Brewing Company , Philadelphia Brewing Co, Barritts Ginger Beer, and VIP Beer Sponsors Strongbow, Heineken & Amstel Light.

I was recognized by Head House Crab and Oyster Co. I said, “Oh, you guys won the Dog Days of Summer Hot Dog contest in July”.  And the chef responded,”Hey, you’re the blogger that didn’t like our hot dog recipe!”

Which is kinda true, they weren’t my #1 choice (See Philly Dog Days of Summer Hot Dog Cook-Off RECAP) But it’s fun to be recognized. For this Fashion event, Crab and Oyster were serving a Ceviche shooter with: salmon, mahi mahi, red bell pepper, fresno chili, red onion, cilantro & cucumber. Would love to have it on a snowflake roll.

Update 4/14/20 – I noticed this vintage post had gotten a few views. So I decided to revisit it. Unfortunately, the application I used to make the slideshows for most of the runway shows is no longer in business and so the pics are missing. Lucky I shot one on video (see below) wonder why I didn’t do more video 🙁

Fashions by Totem Brand Co – Mens Wear with a focus on American-made and manufactured clothing. They feature brands such as as Red Wing, Danner, Wolverine, Raleigh Denim and Rogue Territory. Owner: Philip Yi.

Fashions by Moon & Arrow – a socially responsible and environmentally conscious boutique of handmade and vintage clothing, jewelry, accessories and home furnishings. Owner: Chelsea Pearce.

The video clip is from the boutique McKinzie Chic owned by Sheri McKinzie whose brand is not only stylish men & women’s fashions, but also specializes in hair design.
