Philly Restaurant – Flying Carpet Cafe & Bar
Stumbled upon an oasis in the desert yesterday, a real treasure of a spot called Flying Carpet Cafe & Bar. Located in the triangular apex of 19th & Poplar (1841 Poplar Street). The vibe inside is wonderfully chill, with a slightly Moorish decor. Owner Kevin Young, is at least partly of Middle Eastern decent and a lot of the menu reflects this flavor, offering Mediterranean Tapas, Vegan Flying Falafel, Exotic Teas and Baklava. Metropolis – PFS & Macy’s Event
Partnering with the Friends of the Wanamaker Organ and hosted by Macy’s Center City, attendees were treated to a truly unique Philly film event by pairing Fritz Lang’s 1927 restored sci-fi work of art with the historic Wanamaker Organ, fantastically played by Peter Richard Conte. Metropolis is an ambitious film, even by today’s standard in terms of themes explored.
