Interview with SLAMDANCE Screenwriting Competition GRAND PRIZE Winner – Tamra Teig
By Le Anne Lindsay, Editor This interview is also part of my Sundance Film Festival Coverage Day 5, as I met Tamra Teig because we were both staying at the same condo during #Sundance2020. She was there to accept the award and be interviewed at Slamdance Film Festival as she and her writing partner Michael Lipoma won the SlamDance Film Festival Grand Prize for Screenwriting for their screenplay THE FALL. “The Fall” is a narrative feature which takes us behind the Berlin Wall shortly before its fall, and the personal story of a mother & son connected to the events of that historic happening. “The Fall” is a historical drama…

Mike Paquin was born in S.W. Philly, raised in Delco, and currently resides in the Roxborough section of Philly. Most recently he’s featured in Christopher Stem‘s short film Thriller “The Springs County Psycho”, which is temporarily available on YouTube (see below). Mike caught the acting bug a little later in life, but has been making steady headway by studying the craft and acting in several local independent films. Featured in Central New York Woman Online
My Sundance posts caught the eye of someone who was helping a friend do publicity on an event taking place at #Sundance2020, she asked me if I wanted to attend. I said I would, only the event was taking place the same day I was flying home from Park City. We chatted a bit more over DMs, leading to her mentioning that she was also a co-founder of this publication Central New York Woman Online which features women of all walks of life, age, race and location, telling their stories of success, failure and hope. I got to talk about my career ups and downs, losing faith in myself and…

THE GO-GO’S (Sundance 2020 Premiere)
Director Alison Ellwood handles the interviews, pacing, images, 80s nostalgia deftly, but she doesn’t reinvent the wheel. There’s a standard template for rock-band disintegration and the Go-Go’s story fits within a basic music-doc rulebook, but that makes it no less fun. There’s nothing I love better than a tale of rising beyond one’s wildest dreams, peaking, then taking that terrible tumble, only to learn lessons and find your footing again.

ZOLA (Sundance 2020 Premiere)
Basically, ZOLA is a recounting of how Zola (Taylour Paige) (pretty, 20-something black female) meets Stefani (Riley Keough )(pretty 20-something white female), it seems one exotic dancer can always recognize another, and they strike up a friendship, which goes horribly wrong when Stefani invites Zola on a road trip to Tampa to dance. Strippers can make more money traveling to other cities to work the pole, as they’re considered “new talent” to customers tired of the same ol girls. I don’t think any trouble would have come of the trip if the girls were on their own, Unfortunately, they are accompanied by Stefani’s dim-witted boyfriend Derrick (Nicholas Braun ) and…
