History of Racism on High Alert #PhillyProtest #PhillyRiots During Corona Pandemic – What’s Next?

    May 31, 2020 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Kinda hard to have a section of my site called Philly Spotlight without spotlighting what happened yesterday in our city.  Philadelphia joined Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, LA, Denver, Detroit, Louisville, Dallas/Fort Worth, Memphis and others in solidarity to the protests that had been going on for several days in Minneapolis in response to the heinous murder of George Floyd, a 46 year-old black male who died at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers on Memorial Day. Wrong Protagonist: THE HIGH NOTE

    May 28, 2020 /

We get some of all that, but it’s a side dish, instead of the main course.

    May 28, 2020 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I’m going to watch PLANET OF THE HUMANS this week, haven’t had a chance yet, but when I heard about the censorship of Youtube yanking it over purported copyright infringement I decided to post the version uploaded to Vimeo in support of Free Speech. Update: as of June 5, 2020 the documentary is once again posted to YouTube Planet of the Humans is a 2019 Michael Moore American environmental documentary film written, directed, and produced with Jeff Gibbs. This one goes after the so called “good guys” examining the environmental companies and organizations in bed with Capitalism. It seems some of the reason why we’re…

    The Lovebirds

    May 23, 2020 /

If you’ve seen and liked 2010’s Date Night (starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell) or the more recent Game Night (starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams), or even to some extent Nanjiani’s out-of-control flick from last summer Stuber, then you should get a kick out of The Lovebirds.
