Holiday Post: ACME MARKETS GIFT CARD GIVEAWAY

    November 23, 2016 /

I'm super excited to announce Tinsel & Tine's sponsored association with ACME Markets, as I am an avid ACME Shopper! When I lived in Mount Airy, I frequented both the ACME on Ridge Ave (5927-59 Ridge Ave.Philadelphia, PA 19128) and the ACME on Germantown Ave. (7010 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19119). Now that I'm in West Philly, I shop at the ACME on City Ave...

    Movie Blog Post: NOCTURNAL ANIMALS

    November 22, 2016 /

A STORY OF LOVE & BETRAYALNOCTURNAL ANIMALS by Tinsel & Tine Editor, Le Anne Lindsay Amy Adams is having a good month, last we talked about her movie Arrival (click for T&T post) but she’s also the central character in designer/filmmaker Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals. Ford said it took him 7 years to get another film to the screen after 2009’s critically acclaimed A Single Man (click for T&T post) starring Colin Firth, because he had a child, built 100 stores and had a hard time finding material he could completely control. Nocturnal Animals is based on a novel by Austin Wright called “Tony and Susan”, but Ford admits to…

FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM

    November 20, 2016 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor  A WORLD DIVIDED The Hamilton cast vs Trump/Pence controversy is interesting, isn’t it?  I’m in total agreement with the Broadway Musical, both in that they felt it was within their “brand” so to speak, to address Vice President elect Pence on the issues of multi-culturalism, which could be at stake during the upcoming Administration; and that they waited until after the show had completely ended, including curtain calls, to make the statement, showing concern for the proper handling of such an unprecedented act. Later, I started gathering my research for this Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them post and was struck by the similarities…

David E. Talbert’s ALMOST CHRISTMAS & Philly Holiday Bake Off

    November 10, 2016 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor TINSEL & TINE JUDGES PHILLY’S“ALMOST CHRISTMAS” PIE BAKE OFF   Well, the holidays are upon us again. More and more every year I wish I could hibernate starting on Thanksgiving through Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day, only to emerge in time for Easter. I can picture myself in a cozy cabin somewhere in Nantucket, I’d try my hand at making all kinds of soups and breads; I’d enjoy short brisk walks, and warm myself with mint hot chocolate; I’d get my acrylics out and get back to painting; I’d read an actual book or two, instead of articles and reviews; of course binging…
