The Lion King

Tinsel & Tine #MiniMovieReview THE LION KING (Director Jon Favreau) “photo real” they’re not calling this one “live action” This movie was made in multiple ways – First in VR, and then animated, and then live action filmmaking techniques were used.

It’s gorgeous! The production value is like “Jungle Book”, but stays closer to the look and feel of the original 1994 Lion King in many ways. Scar looks so much like the animated version down to the thin butt and raggedy ear, but he also looks so much like an actual lion. I have to do some more research on the making of, cause the blend of visuals is rather uncanny!

Seth Rogan is SO Pumbaa, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look at him again without seeing tusks and think of him happily farting.

If you’ve seen the incredible Broadway version of The Lion King then you’re gonna wish this had more music, but if memory serves, it has all the songs from the animated version, but I love things song heavy. However, some of the missing Broadway tunes are heard in the orchestral score.

Don’t we all wish we had a property like this where you could re-purpose it again and again every time making money hand over fist 💲💲💲 yet never doing the product or the public a disservice. That’s Capitalism at its best and nobody does it like Disney!
