XPN Music Film Festival Round Up 2013
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor The XPN Music Film Festival was the second collaboration of the radio station WXPN/and Philly music venue World Cafe Live produced by The Philadelphia Film Society. I got to a few more screenings last year (XPN Music Film Fest 2012), just kinda dipped in and out this year, but what I experienced was worth while! Opening Night was Thursday April 11th- You can’t go wrong opening with something Beatles inspired. This Weekend I’ll be Covering: The XPN Music Film Festival
Film & Music, like Film & Food is always an exciting pairing! I’m looking forward to attending some of the goings on at this year’s XPN Music Film Festival April 11-14, 2013. Here’s a link to T&T coverage from last year’s XPN inaugural festival. Now in its second year, the WXPN Music Film Festival represents a collaboration between the noncommercial radio station and the Philadelphia Film Society. The event will encompass 17 film screenings, live music performances and a variety of ancillary activities. The eclectic affair will span a variety of music genres, including documentaries about the music scene, biopics about musicians, and movies that have distinctive music soundtracks. http://xpn.org/events/music-filmfest…

This used to be my very favorite restaurant, I still love the vibe, but now I’ve had a few mediocre meals there in the last few months. FINGERLING POTATO SKINS $7 (Sorry no pic, we ate them before I remembered to snap one) Green Meadow Farms Smoked Bacon, Lancaster Aged Smoked Cheddar, Lime Sour Cream – Not nearly as tasty as they sound – 2 Tines BUFFALO VEGAN CHEESESTEAK $11…

Philly Restaurant – Tria (XPN Music Film Fest)
My other dining experience during the music film festival was Sunday afternoon at Tria (3131 Walnut Street). My sister had given me a gift certificate for Christmas and this was the perfect time to make use of it. This spot used to be called Biba, same owner, Jon Myerow who has Tria cafes in Rittenhouse Square and Washington Square West. But this location was going to focus on wines, so it was given a different moniker. However, now it appears to just be a 3rd Tria. Tria does a great thing called Sunday School, where they choose a selection of beers, wines and cheese, give a detailed description and price…
