The emphasis here is on embodied movement as a universal, collective, and deeply reflexive act important for both rigorous research as well as inspired art, particularly as they emerge from the experiences of Black women. This past Saturday I was invited to partake of a Brazilian BBQ at International House Philadelphia @ihousephilly – what I love even more than smoked and seasoned meats, is the fact that now that I live in West Philly, IHouse (37th & Chestnut Streets) is part of my neighborhood! This Weekend I’ll be Covering: The XPN Music Film Festival
Film & Music, like Film & Food is always an exciting pairing! I’m looking forward to attending some of the goings on at this year’s XPN Music Film Festival April 11-14, 2013. Here’s a link to T&T coverage from last year’s XPN inaugural festival. Now in its second year, the WXPN Music Film Festival represents a collaboration between the noncommercial radio station and the Philadelphia Film Society. The event will encompass 17 film screenings, live music performances and a variety of ancillary activities.
