FIFTY SHADES OF GREY Book to Movie Comparison

    February 16, 2015 /

Satiated: Fifty Shades of Grey & Fifty Shades Darker By Le Anne Lindsay, Editor POST UPDATE: 2.11.2017 I didn’t read all three of E.L. James Fifty Shades of Grey novels – I listened to them.  These books on tape were the highlight of my day while working for a mortgage company doing tedious, monotonous, brain numbing data entry.  No sooner did I finish Fifty Shades, I ordered up Fifty Shades Darker, followed by Fifty Shades Freed. It was a period of time when I needed a heavy dose of escapism and obviously, I wasn’t alone!  If you were one of the millions of women around the world who indulged in…

Have You Heard: BEYOND THE LIGHTS

    November 14, 2014 /

by Contributor Terri Heard I was listening to The Movie Man’s 6 Second Review for Beyond the Lights this morning on the Elvis Duran Show and I just knew he was going to give a curt dismissal ending in “I’m Out” –  But he was IN! He gave it a more than six second rave! Not that I need validation from The Movie Man to like or support a movie, but it did prove this movie has cross over appeal, not just with white and black audiences but, male and female. You know who else really liked the movie? Another new Tinsel & Tine Blog Contributor – Terri Heard.  I…

Art, History, Race, Romance, Politics: BELLE

    May 12, 2014 /

by  Le Anne Lindsay I’m sure there are people born and raised in Nebraska who are Francophiles, Gingers who love the sun and Dutch who wear Kimonos and collect things from the Ming Dynasty and on and on, you never know why people have an affinity to, or identify with, things that don’t seem to fit who they are or should be. I’ve always been drawn to the British Aristocracy and fancy the idea of living in a sprawling country estate. I began reading historical Harlequin Romance novels about the age of 11 or 12 and absolutely loved all the etiquette, intrigue, wealth, entertaining and most importantly, no one worked.…

    A Quickie: ABOUT LAST NIGHT

    February 15, 2014 /

It’s Valentine’s Day and once again I’m spending it alone.  I’m not bitter, certainly used to it; but I’m also not in the mood to write a really in depth review on a movie about sex and relationships.  Even though the relationships throughout About Last Night are rocky at best, but at least both couples are GETT’N SOME! So in short,  I’ve never seen the original, About Last Night with Demi Moore and Rob Lowe, but I did find someone who took the time to write a transcript of that version –Drew’s Script-O-Rama (which I thought was funny). I’ve never read the David Mamet play which both movies are based upon.…
