Movie Blog Post: Alice Through the Looking Glass | Captain America: Civil War | X-men: Apocalypse

    May 29, 2016 /

Even Alice (Mia Wasikowska) who fervently believes in 6 impossible things before breakfast, knows that time has the final say on death and can't get behind her friend the Hatter's (Johnny Depp) notion that his family, the hat making Hightopps, [of which he was estranged, being the black, rather colorful sheep of the family] could still be found or brought back...

Burnin Hot! – IRON MAN 3

    May 3, 2013 /

I was just checking out the Iron Man 3 comments on Superherohype.com, Wow! Some of those fanboys are tough, and not just on the movie, they’re so hateful with each other. I often wonder why I don’t receive more comments, but if that’s what having comments gets you, than please keep your thoughts to yourself! Of course, you know, I’m happy to converse with anyone who wants to talk movies pro or con, food or just chat, but in a fun and civilized manner. Anyway, I thought Iron Man 3 was AWESOME!  I’ll leave it to the fanboys to really pick it apart or give it praise, but for me,…

Commentary – Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

    December 17, 2011 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I remember nothing of the plot of the first Sherlock Holmes movie, but it didn’t seem to impede my enjoyment of the 2nd installment of this sleuthing franchise, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring my love, Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows also features one of my favorites from the series Mad Men (Jared Harris/ Lane Pryce) in the role of Holme’s nemesis, Dr. Moriarty; along with the official Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Noomi Rapace. The same elements used in the first film, work to make this fast-paced, studio vehicle equally or perhaps more fun: Downey carrying the…

Commentary – Due Date and Unstoppable

    November 7, 2010 /

UNSTOPPABLE – There’s plenty of cliches you can use to describe this movie, like – “it’s a non-stop thrill ride”, “It’s got enough steam to be a run away hit” or “Catch this power packed vehicle before it leaves the theater”. All apt descriptions, as director Tony Scott has delivered a really intense action movie that had our preview audience noticeably cringing, rooting and cheering for veteran train engineer, Frank (Denzel Washington) and newbie Will (Chris Pine) as they try to chase down a runaway train, carrying highly toxic and flammable material into populated areas outside of Pittsburgh…. Continued on PFS site DUE DATE -I can say, I think the…
