This Weekend I’ll be Covering: The XPN Music Film Festival
Film & Music, like Film & Food is always an exciting pairing! I’m looking forward to attending some of the goings on at this year’s XPN Music Film Festival April 11-14, 2013. Here’s a link to T&T coverage from last year’s XPN inaugural festival. Now in its second year, the WXPN Music Film Festival represents a collaboration between the noncommercial radio station and the Philadelphia Film Society. The event will encompass 17 film screenings, live music performances and a variety of ancillary activities. The eclectic affair will span a variety of music genres, including documentaries about the music scene, biopics about musicians, and movies that have distinctive music soundtracks. http://xpn.org/events/music-filmfest…

Candi’s Corner: THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER
I met a lovely, fun, bright freelance writer named Candace Cordelia Smith at the BlackStar Film Festival, so I asked her if she’d be interested in guest blogging for Tinsel & Tine… And here’s her first post! Director David O. Russell (The Fighter) was the prime red carpet target, along with the author of the book “Silver Linings Playbook” Matthew Quick. The others pics are of local actors (Brea Bee, Vaughn…

North By Northwest – Interview with Eva Marie Saint
Photo credit: Hugh E Dillon Earlier this month the Turner Classic Movies’ “Road to Hollywood” tour came to Philly (Prince Theater) and brought along legendary actress Eva Marie Saint, the actress best known for her sexy spy role, playing opposite Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock’s suspense classic – North By Northwest. The 10-city tour is part of a campaign to promote the vintage film network’s annual TCM Classic Film Festival (April 12-15). I’ve seen North By Northwest close to a dozen times starting around the age of 12. It’s one of my favorite Hitchcock flicks, so I was thrilled to get an opportunity to not only hear more about the…
