Triple Action Movie Day: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Jack Ryan:Shadow Recruit, The Legend of Hercules
Thankfully, most movies I get to see in previews, but sometimes I miss a few flicks depending on my work schedule, or where the preview is screening. To catch up, every other month or so, I do a double or triple feature. (pay for 1 get 2 😉 Which Tolkien Creature Are You? Take the Quiz – It Pegged Me Perfectly! The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Director: Peter Jackson) begins with a little prequel to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, where we see Gandalf (Ian McKellen) introduce himself to Thorin (Richard Armitage), the would be Dwarf King. These two were more than well acquainted in the first movie, so…

Candi’s Corner – Ahhhhhh! Zombies!!! Surviving World War Z
Reviews by Candace C. Smith The last time I enjoyed a movie with Brad Pitt was when I empathized with his voracious appetite in 2001’s Ocean’s Eleven. Watching him eat in just about every scene was one of the many highlights of that movie for my viewing bliss. Since then, I haven’t paid much attention to Mr. Pitt’s acting or believe it or not, personal relationships disseminated throughout the daily circus of celebrity blogs and TV infotainment programs. With his latest movie, World War Z, I have finally, once again taken notice of not only his acting ability, but his physical dexterity. In both American and British terms, the man…

Trekkie Soup: STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS
Had a blast seeing Star Trek Into Darkness last night! Unlike most of the 3D movies I’ve seen, this one makes galactic good use of the technology! But I’m not a Trekkie. I’m a fan of the original series, meaning if I’m channel surfing aimlessly on a Saturday and come across William Shatner stuffed into his uniform, seducing some blue creature, I get a little thrill and stop to watch. So no movie review here, you’ll find plenty of other sites with plenty to say, I just thought I’d throw out some random Star Trek frivolity: Like did you know William Shatner does wine tastings on his website? AND…

Burnin Hot! – IRON MAN 3
I was just checking out the Iron Man 3 comments on Superherohype.com, Wow! Some of those fanboys are tough, and not just on the movie, they’re so hateful with each other. I often wonder why I don’t receive more comments, but if that’s what having comments gets you, than please keep your thoughts to yourself! Of course, you know, I’m happy to converse with anyone who wants to talk movies pro or con, food or just chat, but in a fun and civilized manner. Anyway, I thought Iron Man 3 was AWESOME! I’ll leave it to the fanboys to really pick it apart or give it praise, but for me,…

A Comical look at a True Story, Pain & Gain isn’t Funny to Some
“Pain & Gain Actor Anthony Mackie defends Director Michael Bay’s decision to portray Tragedy as Comedy” By Christopher “Flood the Drummer”® Norris If you’ve never read the story of the “Sun Gym Gang” as chronicled by writer Pete Collins in his 1999 three-part series called Pain & Gain, which was published by Miami’s New Times, then don’t rely on Director Michael Bay’s New movie “Pain &Gain,” which touts “This is a true story,” to give you authentic chronological accounts of the case; nor its preceding murders, tortures, and kidnappings. You can however rely on a ton of laughs from the movies loaded cast which stars Mark Wahlberg as the…
