Guest Blogger: Morgan’s Tips on Hosting an Oscar Party
3/3 POST UPDATE – SOCIAL MEDIA HIGHLIGHTS 86 ACADEMY AWARDS (OSCARS 2014) I have intentions of throwing a great Oscar party one year, not ready for that kind of planning and expense this year, but hopefully before the Oscars turn 100 🙂 For now, I prefer the relaxed fun of throwing a virtual online social media party, where everyone provides their own party food in the relative comfort of their own homes, but we can share pictures and comments back and forth during the red carpet and 86th Annual Academy Awards – hosted by Ellen DeGeneres! Check out past Tinsel & Tine Oscar Coverage- 85th Oscars / 84th Oscars…

Once again, I’ll be facebooking and tweeting during the Oscar Red Carpet and Awards show this coming Sunday, February 24th. Would love to hear from you, so be sure to like and follow! Not bad, but as I couldn’t work in a Ritz Theater discounted Wednesday or matinee showing, I paid full price for An Education and Up in the Air. In addition, the cost to rent Inglorious Basterd and A Serious Man was $5 each, being as they were both on…

Commentary – Avatar / Oscar Catch Up
As I mentioned in my Golden Globes recap, I didn’t want to see Avatar, it looked like a glorified Disney Pixar film, not that I don’t enjoy Disney Pixar, but I wouldn’t dream of spending $14 on an animated feature. Still, I try to see as many Oscar nominated films as I can before The Academy Awards. In 2005 I saw all the Best Picture nominated films without even trying (Million Dollar Baby, The Aviator, Finding Neverland, Ray, Sideways) I loved all these films. Since then, there’s always a few films nominated that my friend and I call “Spinach Movies”. These are films that are highly intelligent and well-crafted, but…
