Wow! Has it been a year already? Believe it or not, I lost a boyfriend over PFF21. We met on Labor Day weekend and mistakenly spent almost every moment with each other from that point on. Acclaimed Broadway Musical ONCE Coming to Philly!
I’ve only seen the movie Once – well, once, in the theater in 2006, two years before starting Tinsel & Tine, so I never wrote about it, but it’s always stuck with me. There’s a strangely magical simplicity to this little love story between a Dublin guitarist / singer-songwriter (Glen Hansard) who makes a living by fixing vacuum cleaners and this Czech girl (Markéta Irglová) who plays piano when she gets a chance, and does odd jobs by day and takes care of her mom and her daughter by night.
