    Let Him Go

    November 5, 2020 /

We get to see Superman’s parents from Man of Steel teamed up again. Diane Lane and Kevin Costner have locked in mature & sexy, both singularly and together. They’ve aged so gracefully and continue to be actors that can immediately pull you into a story. This story, written and directed by Thomas Bezucha (I looked at his IMDB and have never seen any of his other films) Adapted from a Larry Watson novel of the same name, is a Western, family drama, which heads into pulp/thriller territory. Margaret (Lane) and George (Costner) Blackledge own a horse farm. She breaks horses with their son James (Ryan Bruce) and George is a…

Documentary: The Way I See It

    October 8, 2020 /

Some of the photo highlights of President Obama include time spent playing in the snow with his daughters and coaching Sasha’s basketball game; to squatting down next to a General in the War Room during the taking down of Osama bin Laden; to reaching out to the son’s of his right hand advisor on Obamacare when she had to be away from her children, putting in 60-80 hour work weeks. You also see the genuine care he gives the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting. Just so many photos that show the humanity instilled in our 44th President. And then darkness falls upon the land in 2016 and Souza goes…

    Wrong Protagonist: THE HIGH NOTE

    May 28, 2020 /

Yet, in my opinion, the movie should have centered around Grace Davis and been more of a drama, than comedy. I would have liked to have seen more of her struggle to come to grips with where she is in her career and life. And to have seen more of how she got to be this icon. We get some of all that, but it’s a side dish, instead of the main course.

FOCUS FEATURES AND WILL PACKER PRODUCTIONS DEVELOPING NOVEL “WHEN I WAS YOU” FOR THE SCREEN

    January 10, 2020 /

Focus Features announced it will develop “When I Was You” with Will Packer Productions. The project is based on the upcoming book from suspense novelist Amber Garza, described as a female-driven thriller.  Garza’s past works include “The Girl Frozen in Time,” “The Last Time I Saw Her,” and the “Prowl” trilogy.  Will Packer and James Lopez will produce under the Will Packer Productions banner.   The obsession starts on an ordinary fall morning when Kelly Medina gets a call from her son’s pediatrician.
