Philly Dining – DANDELION
I was actually in the mood for WARM ROAST BEEF (watercress salad, horseradish mayonnaise, beef gravy, sourdough bread) $12. However, it's more fun to try something more adventurous when sampling a new restaurant, so I went with the DUCK BOLOGNESE (strozzapreti, fried duck egg) $16. This was very savory, only I would not have been able to discern it was duck, it tasted like a very good, lean and tender beef sauce.

The Birth Tinsel & Tine!
I’d like to thank all my friends and family who were with me during the labor pains of birthing a new name for my blog. I was given some good suggestions: “Film Bites”, “Restaurant and Reels”, “Dip My Toe”, “Cinema Gastronomique”, “Cineatsta”,”Hungry Eyes” and a few others. But I’m still “working”, giving attention to the food part of this film and food blog. My sister and I had Sunday Brunch at Jerry’s Cafe (90 Chambers Street) I understand it used to be a popular spot in SoHo. The funky red leather booths and zebra stripped decor sets the mood for afternoon cocktails. My sister was only mildly impressed with her Amaretto French Toast, and they no longer serve Turkey bacon. However, we both agreed the Mac…

Won Chinese Restaurant
After leaving the screening of Second Moon, I understandably was craving Chinese Food. Especially since someone in the audience was eating take-out in the seat in front of me. Not that I’m condemning them, I’ve brought Chinese into a movie theater before and hoagies or steak sandwiches, once I snuck in a whole pizza and beer! I found my way to Won Chinese Restaurant (214 South 40th Street) where I enjoyed very meaty steamed dumplings and a filling and spicy hot Pork Noodles w/ Peking Sauce. But this was my first experience dining in a Chinese restaurant when not only did they not have crispy fried noodles with duck sauce…
