This Weekend I’ll be Covering: The XPN Music Film Festival

    April 11, 2013 /

Film & Music, like Film & Food is always an exciting pairing!  I’m looking forward to attending some of the goings on at this year’s XPN Music Film Festival April 11-14, 2013. Here’s a link to T&T coverage from last year’s XPN inaugural festival. Now in its second year, the WXPN Music Film Festival represents a collaboration between the noncommercial radio station and the Philadelphia Film Society. The event will encompass 17 film screenings, live music performances and a variety of ancillary activities. The eclectic affair will span a variety of music genres, including documentaries about the music scene, biopics about musicians, and movies that have distinctive music soundtracks. http://xpn.org/events/music-filmfest…

    November 3, 2012 /

This is Part II of Tinsel & Tine’s 21st Philadelphia Film Festival Recap &  Reviews. Hope you had or will have a chance to check out Part I. This year, a nice addition to the going’s on, was the VIP Bar located at 110 Chestnut Street. Pass holders, filmmakers and staff were invited to hang out between screenings and enjoy sponsored events by: Alma de Cuba, Empson USA, Tony Lukes, Barefoot Wines & Bubbly & Bourbon Blue. David Bentley with PFS Blogger Ben Silverio I had a nice chat with David Bentley, wine rep with Empson USA. You know how wine connoisseurs will say, this was a good year or…

20th Annual Philadelphia Film Festival Coverage 2011 Part 1 of 3

    October 21, 2011 /

LIKE CRAZY Everything appeared to go as planned last night at the opening of the 20th Anniversary Philadelphia Film Festival. The spacious Zellerbach (Annenberg) theater felt full and the mood was light as we were welcomed by PFS Executive Director Andrew Greenblatt, Artistic Director Michael Lerman and Mayor Michael Nutter. The film chosen to set off this milestone occasion, would seem an insignificant choice by the description – basically a romance involving two recent college grads, Anna an accessibly pretty, unaffected young woman (Felicity Jones) who is in the US on a student visa from the UK and must return upon graduation. Jacob (Anton Yelchin) is an adorable, curly-haired, furniture maker. The…

Exporting Raymond w/ Guest Appearance by Phil Rosenthal (Creator of Everybody Loves Raymond)

    April 8, 2011 /

However, I was on such a helium high from cackling uncontrollably throughout this comedic documentary chronicling Phil Rosenthal's misadventures while recreating his hit show Everybody Loves Raymond, with a Russian cast, for a Russian audience, in Moscow. Followed by a jocular
