Candi’s Corner: Interview w/ Producers & Director of OCULUS

    April 17, 2014 /

On Mirrors, Movie Making, and Jem:  Interview With The Producers and Director/Writer of “Oculus” By Tinsel & Tine Blog Contributor Candace Cordelia Smith (Candi’s Corner) Call me weird, odd, or sick, but I love horror movies. The less gory, the better. I don’t know when this love first began, but you can count on me to watch “The Gate” if it’s ever on television and Lord knows that I’m waiting with bated breath for the next installment of American Horror Story. There’s just something invigorating, frightening, and psychologically remarkable about wanting to avoid all windows every night for a month after watching “The Strangers”. “Oculus”, out in theaters now, is…

DJ Reezey Review/Interview: RIO 2 Director Carlos Saldanha

    April 11, 2014 /

Rio 2: Family Fun That’ll Make You Laugh, Dance & Think!  Carlos Saldanhas’ love for family is eye-poppingly evident in Rio 2  By Tinsel & Tine Blog Contributor: Rashaun “DJ Reezey” Williams  Take my word for it, Carlos Saldanha’s Rio 2 is certain to make your family do 3 things: laugh, dance and think! (Featuring the voices of : Jesse Eisenberg, Anne Hathaway, Kristin Chenoweth, Jamie Foxx & Miguel Ferrer). In a colorful, 3D film about protecting the Amazon, Tulio Monteiro and Linda Gunderson are brave “tree huggers” working to protect endangered species and their habitats. In their time working as environmentalists, the couple saved and domesticated two bright blue birds,…

Flood the Drummer Interview: MARLON WAYANS – A Haunted House 2

    April 8, 2014 /

Marlon Wayans “Desperate for Laughs”  in A Haunted House 2  For Marlon Wayans, it’s all jokes. He’s not trying to change the world, just your mood.  A Chat with Funny Man – @MarlonWayans – A Haunted House 2 http://t.co/RIS2bLIUdO #BlogHerTalks — Tinsel & Tine (@tinseltine) April 13, 2014  By Tinsel & Tine Blog Contributor: Christopher “Flood the Drummer®” Norris “All the Wayans have a certain flavor of comedy,” Marlon tells me, citing his blend as “a spicy crispy” that may “burn your mouth.” Marlon’s older sister Kim calls him “desperate” and he, without argument, would agree. “I will go to wild places to make people laugh. I don’t give a fuck;…

    Philadelphia Film Festival NEBRASKA (#PFF22)

    October 24, 2013 /

My food n film red carpet question to director Alexander Payne – “Since Nebraska is a road trip movie, are there any great scenes that take place in a diner along the way?”  Payne replied, he’s a big foodie as attested to in both Sideways and The Descendants, but no such scenes take place in Nebraska due to the stark aesthetic and lack of good eats in this Mid Western part of the country. Besides the movie is shot in black and white, not the best for filming cuisine. I feel “Nebraska” is a film that takes a while to become engaging. Although this was partly due to the…

Candi’s Corner: Interview with Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo, and Alexa Vega – MACHETE KILLS

    October 11, 2013 /

“Spy Kids”, Ray Liotta, and Bikinis: Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo, and Alexa Vega Talk “Machete Kills” in Philly By Tinsel & Tine Blog Contributor Candace Cordelia After enjoying the crazy fun of screening “Machete Kills”, I was lucky enough to sit down with Robert Rodriguez, Alexa Vega and Danny Trejo during a roundtable interview. It was wonderful to meet these three in this intimate setting and to see how close they are with one another. I must admit that I never saw the magic from all of the Spy Kids movies, but now I have to check out each one again on Netflix; I hadn’t recalled that Robert, Alexa and…
