    June 29, 2015 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor 2012’s Magic Mike (click for T&T post) took most of us by surprise.  Sure, Steven Soderbergh is an amazing director, but it just seemed like such a throwaway summer movie concept – well, we were wrong – it turned out to be a pretty darn good movie, Matthew McConaughey was fantastic and for those of us who didn’t know Channing Tatum’s background, we were amazed by his moves. Three years later we’re given the sequel and this one, under the direction of Gregory Jacobs with it’s very loose plot and limited dialogue is more or less a throwaway, but a really HOT, SEXY, SUPER FUN…

Women on the Edge: STILL ALICE and CAKE

    January 27, 2015 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Dual Film Reviews on “Still Alice’ and “Cake” I saw these two films Julianne Moore in Still Alice and Jennifer Aniston in Cake within days of each other and couldn’t help but be struck by the similarities. And both women are mothers who can’t protect their children from a terrible fate. In STILL ALICE, Alice Howland (Moore) is a 50 year-old professor of linguistics. She’s esteemed in her field, has written books and is asked to…

LET THEM EAT CAKE: Recap from 2014 Wedding Cake Competition

    April 13, 2014 /

If you read this blog frequently, you know I mention cake quite a lot. I'm a self-confessed cake-aholic, but I'm also a cake snob.  I don't want just anything with icing on it, and in fact, it is crucial that the icing not be too sweet, too thick and preferably only on top.
