Tina Fey in a Kabulbubble – WTF (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot)
Tinsel & Tine’s Look at WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT By Editor, Le Anne Lindsay Leave it to Tina Fey to develop a movie with an acronym of “WTF”, you know cast and crew had fun with that double meaning straight through post-production. Of course, trying to use the title of the book by Kim Barker, which the screenplay is based upon – “The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan,” would have been a bit of a mouthful for a movie. It seems Fey’s interest in the book got piqued when a New York Times book review described Kim as a “Sorta Tina Fey character”. In the movie Fey’s character…

How About Those Credit Default Swaps: THE BIG SHORT
Does anyone else feel like THE BIG SHORT just sneaked into the Awards season without warning? I never saw a trailer, it features big names like Christian Bale and Steve Carell, yet I hadn't heard any buzz

A Revlock Review: SECRET IN THEIR EYES
Gripping Yet Absurd By Tinsel &Tine Contributor Mikhail Revlock Secret in Their Eyes is easily the most preposterous film I have reviewed for Tinsel & Tine, outranking RunAll Night and even Beyondthe Reach. It is a film in which detectives look for a suspect in Dodger Stadium and find him in the first section they search. It is a film in which a self-published comic book is held up as incriminating evidence. BLACK MASS Fantasy Departure for Johnny Depp
Highlight: Johnny Depp as James “Whitey” Bulger By Tinsel & Tine Editor, Le Anne Lindsay I’m not really big on gangster films, although I do think, like most people, that Goodfellas is excellent. Despite my aversion, now is the time when the movies that will most likely be nominated for a Golden Globe or even an Oscar start hitting the theaters, so I try to see the ones with buzz, like BLACK MASS. Although, I’m not putting myself through SICARIO, thankfully, Blog Contrib Mikhail Revlock’s covering that one. Johnny Depp over the years has chosen roles where he’s disguised – starting with Edward Scissorhand, to the fey Pirate Jack…

An Unlikely Pairing for: A WALK IN THE WOODS
I’ve never understood the need to be challenged. Particularly when it comes to challenging yourself physically. That old saying about anything worth having is worth doing, or some such nonsense, holds no water for me. I like things easy. I enjoy not just creature comforts, but any comforts. I try never to be too hot, God forbid I be too cold. I need to be in surroundings with lots of natural light on a daily basis, yet protected from too much sun and bugs. I could go on, but you get the picture. So you can imagine the idea of walking the Appalachian Trail (2,185 miles) for 4 months sounds…
