I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY Whitney Houston Biopic to be helmed by Black, Female Director Stella Meghie

    August 9, 2020 /

Filmmaker Stella Meghie (Jean of the Joneses, Everything, Everything , The Weekend, The Photograph ) is shaking up Hollywood. Now, a newly minted Academy member with four films under her belt, this writer-director is taking on an ambitious new project: Whitney Houston’s life story! “It’s so strange to think that the teen girl with ‘I’m Every Woman’ playing over and over in her head, running down the hallway, now gets to direct the movie about Whitney’s life. That is very surreal.” The film, titled I Wanna Dance With Somebody, (screenwriter Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody) has not yet been cast, but shooting is slated to begin next spring. Queen & Slim

    November 30, 2019 /

    Want Men Want – Spotlight

    February 7, 2019 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor #MiniMovieReview WHAT MEN WANT (dir Adam Shankman) – Taraji and company deliver a solid rom-com with a lot of energy and heart.  Nothing groundbreaking, but enjoyable. The wedding scene is hilarious and who knew Erykah Badu was a comedian? But mostly, I fell in love with her love interest the sweetly sexy Aldis Hodge.   T&T the Large Association of Movie Blogs (aka the LAMb) rating: 3.5 outta 5   Congrats Taraji P. Henson  on your Hollywood star! Much-deserved.
