Philly Spotlight: WORLD CUP COLLECTION LAUNCH PARTY Philly Phaithful and Live, Breathe, Futbol
I’m moving into West Philly next week from Mt. Airy in an effort to be closer to happenings in Center City and the outlying areas. I’m hoping a shorter commute will allow me to cover more events, events like this one that kicked off my Memorial Weekend. The Philly Phaithful Launch Party for the World Cup Collection by Live, Breathe, Futbol.

The evening was a collaboration between two young, entrepreneurial Philadelphia guys – Dan Hershberg and Ebun Olaloye.
Dan is the President of Philly Phaithful which specializes in originally designed Philadelphia sports apparel: t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, hoodies, jerseys for both men & women. He quit a great job with ESPN 6 years ago to pursue his passion for sports, particularly Philly sports and begun building Philly Phaithful; with the help of his cousin, in the beginning, the two just worked out of Dan’s apartment. Later Dan became sole proprietor, and thankfully hasn’t had to look back, he now has a team of designers working for him and…
Last year, Philly Phaithful opened a retail store located in Dan’s NoLib neighborhood (737 N. 4th St. Phila., PA. 19123) it’s really a great space – warm, inviting, versatile, yet sporty and boast a 16-ft HD mega-tron screen for viewing parties and video games. The space is available to rent for any occasions, so keep it in mind for promotional events, birthday parties, gamer competitions, etc…
Because Dan plans to host several World Cup viewing parties when things get underway this summer in Brazil (June 12 -July 13) it seemed the perfect collaboration to reach out to Ebun who runs a similar business of designer apparel for Futbol aka Soccer. Ebun a Temple grad is another smart and lucky young artist, who sold 21 XXI shirts on twitter on his 21st birthday in 2 hours, thus the brand Live Breathe Futbol was born. He too hasn’t had to look back, gaining more brand exposure through a Comcast Sportsnet interview this winter.

These guys are obviously doing something right. Think I’d better get out of the blogging game and move into t-shirt design… hmmm… maybe imprints of scenes from foodie films? Well, I suppose that gets into copyright issues. At any rate, it was a young, lively event with plenty of beer, some sandwiches and looked to be swift sales.
