NY Film & Video Festival Day 1

La Paella on Urbanspoon
So I arrived at Village Cinema East at 6:10pm a little too late for the first block of films I was planning to screen. Not a problem, good time to find pleasing food along 2nd Ave.

I was loo
king for ambiance, reasonably priced entrees and WIFI. I had to settle for two out of three, hence why day 1 post is being posted on day 2.

I choose La Paella (214 East 9th Street) They offer an early bird special 3 courses for $16.99. I had Lechuga Conqueso de Cabra which is a mouthful for simple green salad with goat cheese. The dressing was good and tarte, but skimpy on the goat cheese.

The main course – Chuletta de Cordero a la Catalana, baby rack of lamb w/ roasted potatoes. The lamb could have been a bit more tender and slightly more seasoned, but the portion was more than ample and the savory potatoes may have made up for the minimized flavor of the lamb. Dessert, one of my favorites – green tea ice cream.

Rating: Pretty Middle Toe
