MIB International
MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL directed by F. Gary Gray, did manage a #1 debut opening weekend, but with a disappointing $28.5M the movie’s not so much bad, as just completely lackluster. Such a shame cause Tessa Thompson & Chris Hemsworth are so good together in Marvel flicks, not sure why the magic didn’t transfer. MIB Int’l is just one of those movies where technically, there’s nothing wrong except there’s absolutely no spark.
Which is difficult for me to admit, as I always wanna support black directors getting a chance at the big franchise $$$ – Gray does a very capable job, but there’s a big missing ingredient – passion?
Although, the little alien sidekick Pawny is super cute, voice by Kumail Nanjiani.
