LOVE Group Show

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor

I may no longer have a Valentine’s Day date on the calendar, but I’ve replaced it with something that makes me love myself even more 🙂

Not just one, but two of my paintings have been chosen to be shown at B SQUARE GALLERY (614 South 9th Street btw South & Bainbridge). Winsome gallery owner and artist, Heather Bryson has put together a new Group exhibit entitled LOVE, which goes up tomorrow February 3rd and runs thru March 19th. Philly readers, come check it out! Opening Reception – Saturday, February 12th 6-9pm.

Here’s my two pieces being shown:

My good friend Diane Roka is also showing in this exhibit. She’s shown at B Square Gallery a number of times, and encouraged me to show my stuff to Heather, who is no push over, she doesn’t do favors. It’s clear she only shows what she likes, and like any gallery owner gets a percentage of any work that sells. So this has inspired me to think more seriously about my other creative outlet. I’d like to divide my time more evenly between Tinsel & Tine and creating and showing more work.

Diane has been doing the same, she’s creative on many levels, her latest work combining both her talent as a music journalist and artist. Her series of line drawings capture the very essence of musicians such as Jon Langford, Donavon Frankenreiter, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Evan Dando … in the throws of performing. You can see a sampling of her drawings (scroll down alphabetically) and read some of her interviews on Perfect Sound Forever (online music magazine).

I also follow a great (mostly fashion) blog called oh my miss elouise, Diane’s fashion illustrations were the subject of one of her posts.

For the LOVE show, Diane has created a triptych piece centered around this drawing of Emily Kokal of the band Warpaint.
So thank you for indulging me in once again going off topic of film and/or food. After all, what good is having a blog if you can’t occasionally promote yourself and your friends.

Tinsel & Tine provides year-round free promotion, sparking conversations and awareness, celebration and reviews of the movie industry - from local indie shorts to international films/filmmakers, to studio driven movies/moviemakers. Mixed with a spotlight on Philly Happenings. #MiniMovieReview #PhillyCalendar
