Interviews

Four members of the Philadelphia Film Critics Circle  LeAnne Lindsay (me), Dan Tabor, Stephen Silver & Rich Heimlich, got the opportunity to sit down with
Rian Johnson in Philly, the morning before GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY screened at the 31st Annual Philadelphia Film Festival.
His interview is part of our Film Scribes Podcast.  Of course you never have enough time to ask all the questions you have prepared, but I was glad to fit in a little aside about how much I admire his wife, Karina Longworth‘s Podcast “You Must Remember This” a deep dive into old Hollywood. And whether or not their home is haunted.

SXSW Online 2021 Coverage

SXSW 2021 (March 16-20) I've always wanted to go to Austin, Texas. for this famed music/movies/networking extravaganza of a Festival and hopefully one day I will get there; but it's so awesome to have a chance to cover it from Philly!

MINARI w/ Q&A

MOUNTAIN DEW, THE ELIXIR OF LIFE Soon-ja is not your typica,l docile, Korean senior citizen.  She’s full of energy, cuss words, likes to joke around and play cards. You’d think the kids would love meeting a grandma such as this, but instead, Anne is politely weary, and David just out and out tells her she’s not what he wants “Real grandmothers bake cookies! Real grandmothers don’t swear!”

THE HADLEY on the Parkway

Received an invitation to The Hadley Restaurant to try their brunch menu and create a "Tine" post. This new dining spot opened just a little before the holidays on The Ben Franklin Parkway as part of Park Towne Place East Tower. It's a wonderful extension to the Park Towne Resident's living rooms; however, The Hadley is completely open to the public.

5 Questions for SXSW Shorts Filmmakers 2021

Tinsel & Tine's 5 Questions Series continues with our first ever coverage of SXSW! March 16-20, 2021.  Below is a deeper look at a cross section of shorts in competition (Narrative, Documentary, Animated and Student) and the filmmakers behind them ...

NOMADLAND

The story begins with the audience being told the sheetrock mining town of Empire, Nevada all but disappeared in 2011 when the factory shut down.  We meet Fern (McDormand) a former inhabitant of Empire. She’s now living in her van.
