In the Spotlight: Valley Beach – Valley Forge Casino Resort
Summer Frolic with Thunder From Down Under
in Valley Forge
Saturday Night at Valley Beach Casino Resort – Not far from the King of Prussia Mall |
If you’re looking for a little summer fun just outside the city, you may wanna check out Valley Beach Casino Resort (1160 First Avenue King of Prussia, PA 19406). It’s open to the public, and earlier in the season you could purchase an all summer beach tag for $50.
I was invited for a little media event earlier this month, which featured none other than the hot bodies of the Thunder From Down Under, male exotic dancers hailing from Australia! Talk about a real life Magic Mike XXL (click for T&T post) experience!
The show only allows you to take pictures at one point during the night and I got lucky enough to capture this shot on the left of Beau (who was hung like Jon Hamm). As we we’re leaving, the guys brought this elderly party-goer up on stage for a photo shoot, so I took a couple quick snaps as we were exiting the venue.
Vintage Valley Forge Music Fair circa 1980 |
This was the first I’d heard that the old Valley Forge Music Fair, that I knew as a kid, which used to bring in high-caliber headline entertainment had been reestablished as part of The Valley Forge Casino Resort.

Here’s a funny coincidence, I recently started going to a Wednesday morning workout boot camp in Clark Park to try and kick my poor tired and resisting body back into shape. I don’t pay a lot of attention to the other people in the class, cause it’s 7am and someone’s making me do squats, so to hell with pleasantries; but when I saw this one blogger at the Valley Beach event, I thought she looked familiar, but not from other blogging events, finally we placed each other from the Wed. boot camp. She writes a lifestyle and children’s book review blog called Say It, “Rah-Shay”
I’m not one for being out late for the most part, but on occasion it’s great to act like you’re in your 20’s again – I hit Valley Beach at 9:30pm, and enjoyed good bar noshes and island cocktails, then Thunder From Down Under started at 11pm. After the show, I went back to the Valley Beach area and got into the pool and actually danced until 2am. I think I stayed til closing because the DJ played popular songs, both old school and current, the way you know them from the radio. Instead of pumping house music, which I hate. The only thing I didn’t do was hit the casino floor, but my palms were itching to shoot some craps.
Okay, Here’s The PR Type Stuff:
