Commentary – Computer Love
As is often the case, Tinsel & Tine goes through posting feast or famine. This weekend begins the Philadelphia Film Society Spring Preview Film Festival, sponsored by Pennsylvania Hospital, and by coincidence a new acquaintance, Harwood Duncan, (pictured) (see Cafe Centennial post) had his film premiere for a film called Computer Love Thursday night, so my weekend of screening got off to an early start! You can’t so much as own a hot dog stand without having a facebook page anymore; the reason being, it is an amazing marketing/promotional tool. The film’s producers told me it was how they got the word out and IHouse (350+ seats) was packed! Plus,…

Asia Uncut
I like when people send me things to promote on Tinsel & Tine, it’s important to have variety, not just a series of me reviewing films and restaurants. Trattoria San Nicola
I always regret not writing a review within two days of either seeing a movie or dining at a restaurant. Not only is the very nature of blogging timeliness, but once the moment has passed, taste buds fade, judgment is faulty, scenes blend into one over all hue without distinctions or nuances. Such could be the case with reviewing Trattoria San Nicola (4 Manor Road, Paoli PA) seeing as my dining experience took place on February 28th, but alas I need not rely on my own recollection. I was dining with 3 out of normally 4 fabulous ladies- better known as the Juicettes! I met these fine, Philly females at…

PFS Spring Preview Film Festival
So, as sad as it was that Philadelphia Cinema Alliance had to shelf CineFest this spring; Philly film buffs will still have a chance to enjoy a mini spring Film Festival through Philadelphia Film Society sponsored by Pennsylvania Hospital. (See attached below Press Release) The weekend festival begins Friday, April 9th at 5pm with 11 “FREE” films in all. Scroll down for film & event schedule The only problem I see is that I have not been granted a press pass:( There’s no better feeling than arriving 15min before a screening, bypassing every other regular filmgoer in line, flashing an all access badge and sauntering into the theater. Understandably, Non-PFS…
