Mixed Media
This Tinsel & Tine post is not about Industry Media. We’re taking a brief turn today away from film and food. You know how most actors are also singers and vice versa. Well, this blogger also does visual art. Recently, I’ve been working on a series of photographs I took at Long Wood Gardens, blending them with paintings I’ve done in the past or collaging the photos and some I liked the shot in the raw. It’s only 12 of them so far. Click this first photo to visit album.

Bistro Romano
I’ve know about Bistro Romano (120 Lombard Street) for a long time, because I’ve always said one day I’d go to experience the corny mystery dinner theater –“Crime of Your Life” is playing now. In our youth (early 20’s) my sister LeVonne and I used to enjoy going to one in Lahaska, back when we ate, slept and breathed Community Theater. Have you been anxiously awaiting the new sound stages and studio, SUNCENTER or are you just now hearing about it? I remember, maybe about a decade ago, talk of a Hollywoodesque, state-of-the-art sound stage for big budget movie making in Philadelphia, but I didn’t keep up on the progress. Well, this premiere film & TV production facility is here now, (final completion by the beginning of the year) and it’s located only 10-15 min south of the airport, perfect for ushering in & out LA celebs. The Greater Philadelphia Film Office (GPFO) threw a spectacular 25th Anniversary party in one of the sound stages on Sunday night (11.14.2010). Feastivities catered…

Commentary – Due Date and Unstoppable
UNSTOPPABLE – There’s plenty of cliches you can use to describe this movie, like – “it’s a non-stop thrill ride”, “It’s got enough steam to be a run away hit” or “Catch this power packed vehicle before it leaves the theater”. All apt descriptions, as director Tony Scott has delivered a really intense action movie that had our preview audience noticeably cringing, rooting and cheering for veteran train engineer, Frank (Denzel Washington) and newbie Will (Chris Pine) as they try to chase down a runaway train, carrying highly toxic and flammable material into populated areas outside of Pittsburgh….
