Four Seasons Philadelphia Interview: Ryan Coogler: FRUITVALE STATION
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I knew nothing about the true events which Fruitvale Stationis based upon – I’m sure the controversial racial implications of OscarGrant’s death reached the East Coast, but sometimes I go undergroundnews wise for weeks at a time, and when I emerge, I don’t go back to findout what I missed. I do however pay attention during theSundance Film Festival. And when I read about Fruitvale Station, winning so much praise, I thought, how dramatic can it be? We know theguy dies. But I was so wrong, the film has real heart and emotionalinvolvement because it is so “day in the life of”. As you’re watching…

Belly Laughs: THE HEAT (Interview: Jessica Chaffin & Jamie Denbo)
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Is it getting easier to make me laugh or are writers getting funnier? I laughed like a fool at This is The End (click for T&T post) and like an idiot at the female cop (Melissa McCarthy) vs female FBI agent (Sandra Bullock) / female cop partnered with FBI agent comedy – The Heat. Below is a segment I like to call – I couldn’t have said it better myself, where I find sources from the web that echo my sentiments on the movie. by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Tinsel & Tine recently began a series covering Food Trucks. Diane (dianeroka.com) and I continued on from New Haven (See Tasting Tour) because she was invited to Montauk NY for a project to capture the local flavor of the place by drawing portraits, much like a photographer captures a scene. Knowing we were to stay at the East Deck, I decided to try and interview the owners of the famed food truck in Ditch Plains called The Ditch Witch. Grant Monahan Captured by Diane Roka Montauk NY I struck gold! Not only did Grant Monahan (Ditch Witch is a family biz) respond, I caught him…

Tom Brandt: Thali Too, Oaxaca Kitchen & Thali Tasting Tour – Part 1 of 3
Thomas Brandt Last year I interviewed Film Buff & Foodie Tom Brandt a restaurateur in the New Haven Connecticut area. Life’s little obstacles prevented me from being able to take him up on his offer to actually visit the restaurants until this May, but OMG was it worth the wait!!! Together with his partner James Beard honoree and Iron chef winner Chef Prasad Chirnomula, they run a total of 5 restaurants – Thali in New Caanan & Ridgefield, and Thali, Thali Too (Vegetarian) and Oaxaca Kitchen in New Haven. Thali specializes in imaginative dishes based on traditional India fare. Oaxaca’s creative cuisine is based on authentic Mexican dishes. I loved…

epic Interview in Philly with Director Chris Wedge
Le Anne Lindsay, Editor Tinsel & Tine got invited to a roundtable interview with Chris Wedge the director of the new Blue Sky Studios (Ice Age) animated movie Epic. These types of interviews are one of my favorite things about writing Tinsel & Tine. You have direct access to filmmakers and actors in a deluxe Center City hotel conference room, but because 3 or 4 other journalists are involved with the interview it takes the pressure off and allows for a light-hearted, fun atmosphere, as long as no one steals your question before you can ask it 😉 Epic is a tale about the magical worlds that may co-exist with…
