Candi’s Corner: Interview with Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo, and Alexa Vega – MACHETE KILLS
“Spy Kids”, Ray Liotta, and Bikinis: Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo, and Alexa Vega Talk “Machete Kills” in Philly By Tinsel & Tine Blog Contributor Candace Cordelia After enjoying the crazy fun of screening “Machete Kills”, I was lucky enough to sit down with Robert Rodriguez, Alexa Vega and Danny Trejo during a roundtable interview. It was wonderful to meet these three in this intimate setting and to see how close they are with one another. I must admit that I never saw the magic from all of the Spy Kids movies, but now I have to check out each one again on Netflix; I hadn’t recalled that Robert, Alexa and…

Pennsylvania Film Industry Association (PaFIA) Fall Mixer Roundup & Interview with Videographer & Film Editor Jonathan Grossman
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor On Wednesday September 19, 2013 I attended the PaFIA Fall Social & Mixer at Morgan’s Pier (221 N. Columbus Blvd) which was open to non-members. There are times I mark things on my calendar to cover and then when the actual event is upon me, I get a little chicken and think maybe I won’t go. I almost did that with this event which started at 8pm, but I couldn’t get it together and arrived at 9:15pm. The funny part is, after I get some free food and a drink, I’m in total blogging mode! Approaching people, Nikon and digital voice recorder at the ready,…

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor In May (2013) I started a food truck series with Farm Truck and went to New York to feature The Ditch Witch. Then I got rather busy interviewing Lee Daniels, Cuba Gooding, Jr and Yaya Alafia for the movie The Butler, and other great film/movie posts happened, and so, it’s taken me this long to get back to my Food Truck series. Debbie Dasani – Owner/Operator/Chef of Samosa Deb It gives me great pleasure to continue The Tinsel & Tine Food Truck Series with a new truck in Philly – SAMOSA DEB. I had a truly warm & delicious visit with Debbie Dasani at…

The Happy Sad – LeRoy McClain Interview
So here’s yet another coincidence, I saw the film The Happy Sad during QFEST (Philly’s LGBT film festival) and went to the after party, where I talked to one of the stars of the movie LeRoy McClain. I remember thinking, I should be interviewing him, but it’s too loud in here and I’m sure he just wants to chill right now. I started to give him my card and ask him to contact me later for an interview, but I let the moment pass. Skip to a month later, my sister Lauren who’s a Media & Cultural Trend Analyst (see website), happens to socially meet Timothy Yates who runs public…
