For various reasons that never really worked out; so I thought I could split the difference and write/cover some foodie posts and some movie posts. And perhaps feature a lot of foodie films or food related docs.  And I did manage a bit of all that but… READ MORE

Beer Tasting – Left Hand Brewing Company

I stumble upon a beer tasting at the Plymouth Meeting Whole Foods earlier this month. And took a liking to all of the selections Dan Conway from Left Hand Brewing Company (Longmont, Colorado) was pouring, although if I had to pick a favorite, I’d go with the Milk Stout. I asked Dan if I could record his descriptions of all the brews and he agreed so here it is: Milk…

At Home with Trader Joe’s: Chicken Quesadillas & Lobster Ravioli

Gotta start by saying this is NOT a paid sponsorship or affiliation.  I wouldn’t be adverse to that opportunity, but this post just comes from the fact that when I’m home, I don’t cook. I make easy does it, just add water or oil and stir kinda meals, while still looking for comfort foods, big tastes and lots of flavor. All of which I find in Trader Joe’s Southwest Chicken…

Food in Film Blog Post: THE TRIP

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor   Me with a Mojito at Surf Lodge. Don’t know the dog’s name but let’s call him Mojito too! For me, it’s more important to have plans for the Memorial Weekend than New Year’s Eve. Although, I whine and cry and rail my fist to the heavens if I find myself home alone for either occasion. Thank goodness this year a friend made it possible…

Philly Dining – DANDELION

I was actually in the mood for WARM ROAST BEEF (watercress salad, horseradish mayonnaise, beef gravy, sourdough bread) $12. However, it's more fun to try something more adventurous when sampling a new restaurant, so I went with the DUCK BOLOGNESE (strozzapreti, fried duck egg) $16. This was very savory, only I would not have been able to discern it was duck, it tasted like a very good, lean and tender…
