Ladies & gentlemen…please be seated… Due to new city rules, we’ll be keeping the dining outside in the fresh air…

Received an invitation to The Hadley Restaurant to try their brunch menu and create a “Tine” post. This new dining spot opened just a little before the holidays on The Ben Franklin Parkway as part of Park Towne Place East Tower. It’s a wonderful extension to the Park Towne Resident’s living rooms; however, The Hadley is completely open to the public. So I’m excited to have a dining option other than heading to Fairmount Ave or Whole Foods when in the Art Museum Area.

Hours:
Tues-Thurs: 5:00pm to 11:00pm
Friday: 5:00pm to 1:00am
Saturday: 11:30am to 2:00am
Sunday: 11:30am to 10:00pm

The Hadley is operated by New York restaurateur Joseph Smith of Bobby Van’s fame, The design and feel of the restaurant is an ode to the late 1950’s, you know, like the early episodes of Man Men, featuring lunch cocktails & evening cocktails, surrounded by the comfortably chic elegance of Mid-Century American design.

Come spring, I’m sure the outdoor patio will be a popular destination.

The Brunch menu has many wonderful standards and a few surprises, but there wasn’t one thing on the menu I wouldn’t order except Eggs Florentine, which is basically Eggs Benedict, a breakfast delicacy I’ve never come to appreciate.

I ordered: Buttermilk Chocolate Chip Pancakes with vanilla ice cream and powdered sugar $12 – for me to be happy with a pancake, the consistency needs to be as close to IHOP as possible, and these are very close. Also, tried the Hangover Sandwich with eggs, mushrooms, avocado, bacon, cheese and sundried tomato, served with a spicy adobe mayo $11  – sounds like a lot, but it all went well together.  Only next time I’d remember to order it with a scrambled egg instead of fried.

The brunch entree prices are reasonable, between $10-$14, also offering a bottomless Mimosa or Bloody Mary Breakfast for $32.

The dinner menu offers American-inspired innovative dishes of sea and land, large salads, pastas, flat breads, sushi, side dishes for 2 and vegan cuisine – the most expensive entree – Roquefort Crusted Filet Mignon $39. Least expensive – Grilled Vegetable Tian $12. All others menu items are somewhere in between (no pasta dish under $20). Maybe I’ll get a 2nd invite to do dinner 🤞🏽
