T&T Coverage of Golden Globe Nominated Films

Boyhood (see T&T post) – Yes, definitely worthy of nomination, if for sheer commitment alone!
Foxcatcher – Haven’t done my write up on Foxcatcher yet. It’s definitely worthy of attention, but not nearly as engrossing a film as I went in thinking it would be.
Imitation Game (see T&T post)- Such interesting history, but not a great biopic, in my opinion, it was a bit flat.
The Theory of Everything (See T&T post) I had predicted noms for Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, but the movie was too long for as little as it had to impart.
Birdman – (See T&T post) Very imaginative and well done.
The Grand Budapest Hotel (See T&T post) one of my favorites! The colors, the absurdity – good film.
Pride – I don’t even remember seeing a trailer or reading anything about this movie. Gotta check it out.
St. Vincent – (See T&T post) The young lead Jaeden Lieberher deserved a nomination.
Force Majeure (See T&T on Tumblr) – This was going to be a part of my Philly Film Fest coverage part 3, which I’ve yet to write. The film is an exploration of a marriage falling apart during a vacation, where the husband’s act of self-preservation brings to light other issues, all handled with situational humor and interesting dynamics.
Wild was also supposed to be part of my Philly Film Fest coverage part 3. This movie does an amazing job of making the audience feel as uncomfortable, tired, scared and triumphant as the PCT Trail hiker Cheryl, played by Reese Witherspoon with grit & honesty.

Into the Woods (see T&T post) What can I say, a movie musical would have to be awful for me not to enjoy it.
Top Five (see T&T post) not nominated for anything, but I feel it should have been.
NightCrawler blew this movie off, now that Jake Gyllenhaal’s been nominated, wish I’d seen it.
Annie – (see T&T post) not as dynamic and hip as it should have been, but Quvenzhane Wallis and Jamie Foxx have great father/daughter chemistry.
Big Eyes… You can’t see them all, unfortunately 🙁
