Diner en Blanc – Guest Blogger The Bicycle Chef

    September 9, 2012 /

My friend and fellow blogger Denine Gorniak aka The Bicycle Chef was among the select guests invited to participate in the amazingly chic food event called Diner en Blanc! What is Diner en Blanc? – There are about a dozen or so now. Most take place in Europe and total several hundred members each year. The most important Dîner en Blanc, which was also the starting point of the movement, is the one in Paris. Instigated over 25 years ago with a handful of friends. At the last minute, the location is given to friends and acquaintances who have been patiently waiting to learn the “Dîner en Blanc’s” secret place.…

THE WORDS: Philly Red Carpet Event

    September 4, 2012 /

w/ BRADLEY COOPER by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor The Words Philly Movie Premiere with Bradley Cooper was the first red carpet event that I got to cover solely for Tinsel & Tine. In the past, I’ve been invited as either a contributor for Cinedelphia or Philadelphia Film Society, and I’ve always been grateful for those opportunities; but now that I’ve been inducted as official Philly Media – more & more exclusive, on the scene, type invites will be forthcoming!!! Or so I hope. When I arrived, after getting my media press pass 😉 I just went to the end of the line of press people and photographers to wait.  Then…

    Moonshine and Cardigans: LAWLESS

    August 28, 2012 /

The story takes place shortly after prohibition is declared. I've always wondered if the government didn't put prohibition in place purposefully as a way to create commerce. Perhaps they didn't know just how bloody and violent it would get; but like wars, it was profitable. After all, it's human nature to want what you've been told you can't have; and there will always be those that not only find a way to break a law, but make great gains from the disobedience...

Vertigo: The Artist As A Filmmaker

    August 25, 2012 /

As I’ve mentioned before, I didn’t see many contemporary films/movies in my youth. Starting at about age 10 through my 20’s, I spent much of my viewing hours watching old movies, with Hitchcock’s Rebecca, Marnie, Vertigo & Notorious at the top of my list of favorites. Of course Alfred Hitchcock is known as the master of suspense, an even as a child I was drawn into the eerie, mysterious, dangerous qualities of these films, but it wasn’t really what fascinated me.  I most certainly didn’t watch for perspective, crane shots, camera angles or filmmaking techniques. Although, I’m sure subconsciously, I responded to these aspects of the films, which we now…
