Bistro Romano
I’ve know about Bistro Romano (120 Lombard Street) for a long time, because I’ve always said one day I’d go to experience the corny mystery dinner theater –“Crime of Your Life” is playing now. In our youth (early 20’s) my sister LeVonne and I used to enjoy going to one in Lahaska, back when we ate, slept and breathed Community Theater. The Greater Philadelphia Film Office (GPFO) threw a spectacular 25th Anniversary party in one of the sound stages on Sunday night (11.14.2010). Feastivities catered…

BURLESQUE (Movie Musical)
by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor I watched Hello Dolly for the first time around the age of 6 or 7 and have been charmed by movie musicals ever since. It’s my happy place! I can’t count the number of times I’ve watched Ann-Margret be sweetly sassy in Bye Bye Birdie, Barbra Streisand be seduced by Omar Sharif on a chaise lounge, in Funny Girl, I know all the lyrics to “If I Were a Bell” from Guys and Dolls, and Gigi, well, I don’t think I love anything or anyone, more than the movie Gigi. Although another one of my favorites is Gypsy, I always wish that Natalie Wood turned…

Flying Saucer Cafe
... and so a discussion that was to be about food in film turned into sex in film, it's the same to me as I see good food as wildly erotic, decadent, irresistible and so satisfying ....
