THE INTRUDER
Tinsel & Tine #MiniMovieReview THE INDTRUDER (Director Deon Taylor) – Scott and Anne Russell (Michael Ealy & Meagan Good) celebrate Scott’s landing a big new client by buying a big new house in Napa Valley CA.
The only problem being, the old widower (Dennis Quaid) is having a hard time letting go of his family’s property, selling it to the Russell’s but finding any and all reason to return to the house and give advice and befriend Anne, who’s often home alone, as Scott still works in San Francisco.
A movie like this is meant to be so bad, it’s good (no pun intended), it’s supposed to have a bit of camp, jump scares, slow build, there’s always gonna be plot holes, that comes with the genre. The key is to have likeable characters and keep it entertaining, and here’s where #TheIntruder really succeeds – Meagan Good and Michael Ealy play off each other with the ease of two people you know have been in the biz together for a long time. And damn do they look good in every scene! #beautifulpeople even when she’s walking around in her sleep head scarf and terry cloth robe. Loved the house, gorgeous.
I will say that Good’s character is a little too naive for a little too long regarding Quaid’s “friendship”, but Dennis Quaid is perfectly creepy, especially that cheeky smile.
