Movie Blog Post: DOCTOR STRANGE (featuring Black Tribbles)

    November 6, 2016 /

His wide set eyes, odd angles of his face, together with the grey at the temples, really works as Doctor Strange.  I was drawn into his cocky God complex, as a sought after neurosurgeon; his mean spirited despair when unable to heal the nerve endings in his prized hands; and the humor and determination he puts into learning the Mystic Arts after being convinced by The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) of its existence...

Movie Blog Post: Alice Through the Looking Glass | Captain America: Civil War | X-men: Apocalypse

    May 29, 2016 /

Even Alice (Mia Wasikowska) who fervently believes in 6 impossible things before breakfast, knows that time has the final say on death and can't get behind her friend the Hatter's (Johnny Depp) notion that his family, the hat making Hightopps, [of which he was estranged, being the black, rather colorful sheep of the family] could still be found or brought back...

Keeping Up with the Marvel Universe: ANT-MAN

    July 17, 2015 /

by Le Anne Lindsay, Editor  T&T’s Look at Marvel Cinematic Universe:ANT-MAN I was reading about the comic book version of ANT-MAN and it seems although certainly not your household superhero, he does go back quite a ways – actually, a founding member of The Avengers.  Ant-Man’s alter-ego is Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) a brilliant scientist, possibly more brilliant than Tony Stark (Iron Man) or his father, yet that seems to be in some debate. Dr. Pym specializes in “Alice in Wonderland” like technology of shrinking and enlarging people and objects, done by manipulating the space between atoms and such.  His wife Janet was also a superhero called the Wasp,…

Best Summer Movie of 2014: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

    July 31, 2014 /

James Gunn has done the impossible: the former Troma director has recaptured the gleeful joy of old-school summer blockbusters and packaged it for modern sensibilities. Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a giddy, punk rock-infused work of pop art, blissfully aware of how pulpy it is—and damn proud of it. The director caught lightning in a bottle with this film, and it’s the most fun you’ll have at the movies all summer...
